Therapy Dogs
Do you work at a Hospital, or maybe a Residential care home, School, Police, Fire Brigade, or a Business in Wales that could benefit from a Sled Dog Society of Wales Therapy Dog visit? Sled Dog Society of Wales Therapy Dog visiting volunteers and their dogs bring happiness and companionship to many people living in a residential care setting. They may have feelings of confusion, loneliness and isolation. We can help support schools by offering therapy dog visits to our young people this in turn can help improve their reading and writing abilities and also encourages self confidence and a marked improvement with their concentration in the classroom. Our hospital visits help to aid a patient’s recovery and rehabilitation and this helps to improve their mental health and well-being. We are often contacted by organisations that are taking part in their own mental health awareness programmes and their staff well-being initiatives which they are wanting to include Sled Dog Society of Wales Therapy Dog visit as part of this. Unfortunately, due to insurance restrictions, we are not able to visit individuals in their own home or private residence at this time.
