We can be available to provide an educational talk on the different  Sled Dog breeds.  Learn a little about our life with sled dogs, how we care for them; train them;  prepare them for adventures on the trail;  train new leaders and what it takes to put all this together to create versatile and athletic teams of lovable sled dogs.  

Through our meet and greet sessions we will share information on the history of our dogs, their heritage and pedigrees, and also how we even make some of our own gear, what equipment we use and for what purpose.

Caring for animals is a great way for young people and adults to learn about commitment and responsibility. Knowing how to behave around animals – especially dogs – also has an important role to play in keeping children and adults safe.

Topics Covered:

• Animal Heroes –  Looks at the brave and heroic acts of animals from war time to today.
• Canine Communication – Identifies how to recognise what dogs are telling us through their body language and how to stay safe around dogs
• Appropriate Interations - Look at the way dogs interact with each other and humans.
• Iditarod - Where the greatest race on earth originated from and how it's evolved into the race we know today.
• Dog Sports - From Dry-land mushing, to canicross, discover the different sports that you and your dog can get involved in, you may be surprised what breeds apart from sled dogs excel at these events.
• Responsible dog handling - from walking the Welsh mountains to the valleys and rivers, find out how to keep yourself and your dogs safe.  Including  dog walking through fields with livestock, and the correct etiquette.
